"Give The Past A New Future"
Southfod Farmhouse
Dunfermline, KY11 4UL
During my HND in 2019, I was asked to find a building of my own choice to work on for a whole year. I wanted to find a derelict building and preserve it, my task was to create a project on what my visualisations are for this building.
There are over 1,000 vacant and derelict buildings in Scotland and Southfod was one of them.
History
Southfod Farmhouse is a Georgian 'B' listed building, located in Dunfermline, Fife. The farmhouse is in stone, partially rendered externally with timber pitched and slated roof and provides a ground floor, first & second floor including attic and basement. It has got an impressive south-facing façade and courtyard - it also has got gate piers for the driveway.
Now it sits as part of a new housing development area - recently it has been said that this farmhouse is being saved from demolition.
Floorplans
This project was a challenge for me because Southfod Farmhouse does not have any existing plans. I contacted every agency / companies about the floor plans and not one of them has got a copy.
So I had to create everything from scratch strating from floor plans to visualisations.
To gain more clients in my buisness, I had to show every plan with isometric views.
Final Visualisations & 3D Model
To complete my whole project on this beautiful Georgian farmhouse, I was asked to produce some visualisation of each room. In the gallery bar below, this is what I created.

To help visualise the beautiful farmhouse clearly, I was asked to create a 3D scale model to show clients as part of the project.
